- Can a normal electrician install an EV charger? A qualified electrician can install an EV charger when they size the circuit correctly and follow code and manufacturer instructions.
- Can I install my own level 2 charger at home? EV charger and 240V circuit work is electrical work. Many jurisdictions require a qualified electrician and a permit.
- Is it better to hardwire or plug in an EV charger? Hardwired units connect permanently to a dedicated circuit. Plug-in setups usually use a NEMA 14-50 or similar receptacle.
