Can I just plug my EV into a 240V outlet?
A properly installed 240V receptacle such as a NEMA 14-50 is a common plug-in path for Level 2 equipment.
The EV must use a compatible plug-in charger or adapter rated for the outlet and circuit.
Important safety note
Do not overload a general-purpose receptacle that was not installed for EV charging duty.
